Ditching the Dream is now 3 Years Old!
And to celebrate, Isabelle is putting the first book in the series up for FREE!
Three years ago, Columbus Day, as the United States celebrated Christopher Columbus’ discover of the New World, Ditching the Dream (featuring Elizabeth Fairchild) was released to explore and rediscover herself.
Feeling dead in her marriage, Elizabeth Fairchild ditches the dream of her seemingly perfect life with her husband in search of who she really is.
She went from her parents’ house to her husband’s home and never really learned to stand on her own two feet. She decides to leave her comfortable life in Napa Valley in search of her inner fire in New York City. She certainly didn’t leave her husband to find another man, but she soon finds herself involved with two: Jack Stevens and Kevin Parker.
Jack is older. He has heart-stopping good looks, is wildly successful, and is very much in control of everything around him – especially Elizabeth.
Kevin is younger. He is carefree with a heart of gold and loves Elizabeth’s spunk.
While Elizabeth’s old life still calls to her, she also finds what she needs in New York. But which dream will she choose?
Ditching the Dream by Isabelle Peterson is an incredible book about Elizabeth Fairchild. Elizabeth is a 43 years old married woman with three children, the youngest being 19 years old. One day she realizes that she has always made other people her priority and she does not even know who she is. Fearing her husband and best friend will talk her out of it, she suddenly moves from Napa Valley to NYC to try and find herself.
In the beginning, Ms. Peterson tells the story about Elizabeth finding her way in her new environment. I truly felt like I was going through the struggles with Elizabeth…looking for an apartment, a job, friends, etc. As she is starting to find her way, she meets Kevin and Jack. She met Kevin in her apartment building and Jack at the Steakhouse she works at. Her husband, Greg, discusses “sowing her oats” to Elizabeth hoping that this will eventually help her come back. Elizabeth is first stunned that Greg would suggest such a thing, but the chemistry she has with both Jack and Kevin encourages her to experiment.
I can relate to this book and understand how Elizabeth is feeling. I absolutely recommend this novel to my friends and those who can also relate. I loved everything about this book and look forward to reading the second book to find out what happens.
And now – It’s FREE! That’s right! Author Isabelle Peterson is celebrating by giving Ditching the Dream away for the rest of the month of October! (Digital only. On Amazon, Nook, iBooks, and Kobo). And while you’re One-Clicking the first book, go ahead and grab the next one, or five. All six books in the series are Live! There’s no waiting for ‘the next one.’
Pick them all up and find out why after three years there are still NO 1-STAR REVIEWS*! And only four 2Stars- across the entire series*! (It’s true – 3 of the books have no 2s or 1s.
Not in My Wildest Dreams –
Not in My Wildest Dream is the second in the six novel Dream series by Isabelle Peterson. Not in My Wildest Dream is also the conclusion of Elizabeth and Jack’s story. The first part of this book goes back and tells us Jack’s story from age 18 until the present time. Ms. Peterson explains Jack’s thoughts and feelings as she sheds light on his journey to the top, including his successes and failures.
I actually fell more in love with Jack and could understand and feel his pain so much more. I wish I had time to re-read book 1 with this new knowledge. I absolutely loved these two books and can’t wait to find the time to finish this series! When I turned that last page of my Kindle, I actually took a deep breath, smiled, and then sighed.
Chasing the Dream –
Chasing the Dream is the third novel in the Dream Series by Isabelle Peterson and is Phoebe and Chase’s story. We were introduced to Phoebe in the first and second novels as Beth’s daughter. She visits her mom in NYC during her spring break in order to look at transferring schools. Chasing the Dream begins as Phoebe moves into her mothers old apartment and begins her internship at a local broadcasting station. She is assigned to be the assistant to the famous actor Chase Smythe while he is in New York filming. At first Chase sees Phoebe as a challenge then he falls for her. Phoebe wants to believe he is serious about her, but is having a difficult time. She is also keeping a secret and becomes, understandingly, very emotional through out the book.
I really love Chasing the Dream and especially loved Chase, my new book boyfriend! It was wonderful to see him grow throughout the book. He started out as an obnoxious, entitled actor and grew to be the most supportive man. I often talked to my Kindle trying to tell Phoebe to just trust Chase and talk to him. Although, she is 19 years old with a lot on her plate. I wish I can tell you all the incredible things about Chase, but you just need to read to find out.
I do feel that it is important to read this series in order to get the full understanding of the story. There were several parts in this book relating to Beth & Jack as well as Kevin.
Unexpected Dreams –
Unexpected Dreams, the fourth book in the Dream series by Isabelle Peterson, is Greg and Tanner’s story. Greg is still feeling down about the divorce from Beth. He continues to drink after work nightly to numb his pain until one night he encounters Tanner Williams, a professional soccer player. He goes on a path of self discovery exploring his feeling for Tanner and try to understand them. Greg begins to experiment and discovers he was never truly happy. He learns to accept himself, be proud, and finally understanding the reason why his marriage failed.
As I read each book in this series, I feel like I am going on this journey with them. They are written so well and with so much emotions, I feel so connected to the whole family. I love how the characters from the first three books are woven in so smoothly, updating me on their progress. I absolutely adore this book and will be re-reading it again soon! <3
This novel can be read by itself, but I truly feel that you will get the best experience by reading the whole series in order. I would love to see these made into a movie! In my opinion, this is a must read series! 5+ kisses
Feels Like a Dream –
Feels Like a Dream is the 5th book in the Dream Series by Isabella Peterson and is Kevin and Shelby’s story. I fell for Kevin in the first book, Ditching the Dream. I adored his compassion and maturity for his age, but agreed that Kevin was not a perfect match for Beth. I loved how he was protective of Phoebe, Beth’s daughter, and I looked forward to him finding his soul mate.
Shelby has been through a lot in her life with health issues as well as bad memories from past boyfriends. This has lead her to have a lot of insecurities. Kevin was so wonderful with Shelby, he was patient and understanding…. I fell for him even more!
I was so engrossed in reading Feels Like a Dream, that I forgot some scenes, which were mentioned in book 4, Unexpected Dreams. Ms Peterson does a wonderful job of writing and with so much emotions. I feel very connected to all of the characters and look forward to finding out what happens next!
This novel can be read by itself, but I truly feel that you will get the best experience by reading the whole series in order.
Dare to Dream –
Dare to Dream by Isabelle Peterson is the sixth and final book in ‘The Dream Series’. I love this series and feel very connected to these characters. Ms. Peterson writes them with such emotions, it is hard to not believe you are a part of the family. I was excited beginning the final book… even pondering how it was going to end.
Dare to Dream begins with Jack and Beth before the big gala. The story continues telling Carter & Caterina’s story as well as Brad, Zack & Angie’s. The way Ms. Peterson writes their stories as well as wrap up all the other character’s stories was brilliant. The sex scenes were so hot and steamy, I especially loved Brad, Zack and Angie’s….still fanning myself! The book ended with Jack and Beth, which felt perfect…like a complete circle.
Not only did I love Dare to Dream, but I believe it exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to be able to read them all over again! A must read series!
“If he’s happy, who am I to say how he finds that happiness? Love is love, right?”
“There’s more than one way to have a family. It can just be a couple. Or they can have a dog. Or even adopt, although, we’re not considering children in any way. Family is what you make of it, right?”
days in New York City. Her Dream Series was never intended to exist.
Thanks to a couple authors who dared her to a write book (when she
typically wrote screenplays), we got the book Ditching the Dream, which
then evolved into the Dream Series. It didn’t take more than 8 months to
complete the dare from rough draft to published novel, although several
times Isabelle had to rescue the draft from the Deleted file.
If it weren’t for a dare–we would have never gotten the chance to venture
the world of the Dream Series.
When she’s not writing, Isabelle loves coffee, cocktails and wine—and not
always in that order. She is a self-proclaimed foodie and loves to cook for
her family. She’s the wife of a wonderful husband, mother of two musical
teens and one fur baby, a 9 pound shih tzu.
