There is something fishy going on in South Carolina! Merck and Shannon have known each other since their school days and to say there was a bit of crush on each other may be an understatement. Alas though like ships in the night they have passed each other thinking the other wasn’t interested. After her mother’s death, Shannon returns home searching for answers. Her mother was a descendant of witch goddesses with cool powers including being able to shift between dimensions. The bad news is this group of witches are being killed. Meanwhile, Merck is related in some way to the God Poseidon and has a knack for life in the ocean (including being able to heal in the ocean). Oh and he’s a hunter of bad witches.
Shannon and Merck are very cute together. While the does he/she like me doesn’t last long, as the attraction is instant, the layers behind why they haven’t been together all this time is nicely developed. I loved the weaving of the Greek Gods and Goddess into the story. It is pretty action packed with a dash of mystery as to what has happened to Poseidon’s Trident (and everyone thinking Shannon has taken it). Despite the tragic loss of Shannon’s mother (and other family members), the story is light and fun. The dialogue moves quick as does the story. There is a little hot and heavy action but it isn’t a predominant aspect of the book. A fun read!
