Unloved: A Love Story
By Katy Regnery
Release Date: October 7th, 2017
My name is Cassidy Porter…
My father, Paul Isaac Porter, was convicted twenty years ago for the brutal murder of a dozen innocent girls.
Though I was only eight-years-old at the time, I am aware – every day of my life – that I am his child, his only son.
To protect the world from the poison in my veins, I live a quiet life, off the grid, away from humanity.
I promised myself, and my mother, not to infect innocent lives with the darkness that swirls within me, waiting to make itself known.
It’s a promise I would have kept…if Brynn Cadogan hadn’t stumbled into my life.
Now I exist between heaven and hell: falling for a woman who wants to love me, while all along reminding myself that I must remain…

Unloved: A Love Story is a suspenseful standalone romance from author Katy Regnery. I instantly became intrigued with this book after reading the synopsis and couldn’t wait to read it. The story started off a little on the slow side for me. Then really took off about halfway through when some of the puzzle pieces started to come together.
I am a sucker for a strong alpha male and become weak in the knees. Cassidy is sort of in the gray area for me. He was not a weakling at all, but I kind of wished he stood up for himself more. Although, I totally understand where his head was at and why he is where he is today. I felt sad for him and I guess I had a difficult time getting over that.
Brynn is a fascinating character. She went through a very difficult event in her life and had a hard time getting past it. After two years, she realizes the direction she needed to go and quickly flies out to Maine. It was a little out of character for her, but I love how she took the step when others did not completely support her.
I love how the story ended and recommend adding it to your TBR list!

Katy lives in the relative wilds of northern Fairfield County, Connecticut, where her writing room looks out at the woods, and her husband, two young children, two dogs, and one Blue Tonkinese kitten create just enough cheerful chaos to remind her that the very best love stories begin at home.
